Colin is Senior Lecturer in English as a Second Language (ESL). He has many years experience in assisting tertiary students develop effective academic reading, writing and thinking skills and strategies, especially for students from non-English language and cultural backgrounds.

Colin coordinates language and academic skills assistance to students from non-English speaking backgrounds for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He teaches credit-bearing units such as TLC120: Introduction to University Learning, teaches non-credit-bearing general and unit-specific language and academic skills classes and workshops, and teaches in individual consultations. He collaborates with and advises other academic staff in relation to language and academic skills development, especially for international and local students from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Colin has an academic background in Science, Education, Chinese Studies and Applied Linguistics. His research interests include tertiary literacy, legal language, discourse and genre analysis, and cross-cultural communication.
