School Development Process
Media Projects: video or multimedia


As part of the School Development Process, the Media Production Staff in the TLC might be assigned to develop a multimedia project for the school.

Goals

  • To enhance the status of the university
  • To attract prospective students
  • To address a strategic area of concern eg: first year experience, retention of students or improvement of graduate employment outcomes.

Nature of projects

  1. Promotion of schools, courses or disciplines
  2. Learning materials which will be usefully enriched by the use of media/multimedia

Eligibility criteria for media projects

Essential

  • Support from the School
  • Strategic importance to division or university

Desirable

  • Longevity
  • Reusability
  • Applicability and transferability to other divisions or units (e.g. templates)
  • Need for visual materials in learning in the type of course
  • Student needs/demand/expectations
  • Quality, efficiency and cost benefit
  • Innovation
  • Conceptual soundness

Review of proposals

  1. Ability to meet a number of the above criteria
  2. Clarity of proposal
  3. Size of the proposal in relation to the timeframe and the capacity of TLCmedia
  4. Commitment by the applicant to an appropriate level of in-kind support*

* in-kind support:

  • Contribution to planning of the project
  • Provision of content information and assistance within the project timelines
  • Testing and timely feedback
