The Murdoch University Act 1973-85
Men and women shall be equally eligible for any office of appointment in the University and for
membership of any of its constituent bodies, and all degrees and courses of study in the University
shall be open to men and women alike. No religious, racial or political test shall be imposed upon
any person in order to entitle him or her to be admitted as a student or other member of the University,
or as a member of the academic or other staff of the University, or to hold office in or to graduate
at the University, or to hold any advantage or privilege thereof.
Code of Ethics and Conduct
Murdoch has adopted a
Code of Ethics and
Conduct which articulates ethical principles, values and behaviours expected of members of Murdoch
University. It underpins the University's Code
of Conduct which provides guidance to members of the University on the standards of conduct
and integrity expected of them. The Code of Ethics is based on:
- The Principle of Justice;
- The Principle of Respect for Others;
- The Principle of Responsible Care.
Justice requires that people are fairly treated and not discriminated against, abused or exploited.
It seeks both equal opportunities and fair shares of social benefits for individuals, with equitable
outcomes for disadvantaged groups.
