Rounds

  • Appropriate for use in small groups
  • Each student has the chance to speak in turn on a given topic eg 'Do you think the mid-semester test was a fair assessment of your learning in the unit so far? Why or why not?'
  • It's okay if a student does not want to say anything - just pass.
  • It's okay to repeat what someone has already said.
  • Keep a record of what students say and what the main themes emerging from the discussion are.

This needs to be kept non-threatening. It could be used in tutorial groups to get feedback on a 'unit' issue.
