Discipline-Based Activities
Funding is allocated for discipline-specific development, dissemination and application of good practice
(including the conduct of seminars, conferences and workshops), based on the UK Subject Centres. This
may include:
- collaboration with or outsourcing to the most appropriate professional or subject association
- linkage with appropriate umbrella bodies (such as a council of Deans or Associate Deans)
- collaboration with subject-based networks in the UK.
Resource Identification Network
Resource Identification and Networking (RIN) portfolio was established to
develop mechanisms for the identification, dissemination and embedding of good
individual and institutional practices at a national and international level.
The ALTC Exchange is
the web-based mechanism through which this will occur. The ALTC Exchange
will combine a learning and teaching repository function with a Web 2.0 social
networking capability - a MySpace for academics. It is aimed at those who teach,
manage and lead in Higher Education in Australia.
Dr Rob Phillips from the Teaching and Learning Centre has been seconded 60%
to the ALTC to assist in the development of the ALTC Exchange.
