Educational Development

Educational Development collaborates with staff in schools and other areas of the university to enhance teaching and learning at Murdoch University. Staff work closely with academic staff to produce high quality, well designed teaching and learning materials and to assist with research and evaluation activities for units and courses.

Unit Coordinators can use the key dates document to check steps required to prepare a unit for teaching. The Guide to Unit Quality provides guidelines and examples of good practice for unit development and provision.

The School Development Process (SDP) is an initiative which focuses on curriculum development and renewal, and enhancement of teaching practice. Unit Coordinators whose Schools are engaged in the SDP are eligible for focussed support.

A major focus within Educational Development is the promotion of flexible teaching and learning through the application of new technologies and the enhancement of traditional teaching modes. LMS support staff provide assistance to academic staff seeking to use the Learning Management System (LMS). We also offer production services including educational design, interface design and multimedia authoring. A suite of customisable multimedia interactions is available to staff wishing to enable online interactivity and facilitate student engagement.
