Outside Studies Program

The Outside Studies Program (OSP) is a program of research or scholarly activity or professional development (including gaining further qualifications) undertaken during a period when an academic staff member is relieved of other duties. Staff members should note that there is an entitlement to apply for OSP, but approval of OSP is at the discretion of the Faculty Dean.

NOTE: The OSP grant is paid by the University via its payroll. No Pay As You Go taxation is withheld but the OSP grant amount will appear on the individual's payment summary issued at 30 June. It is recommended that advice be sought from a tax consultant regarding implications for personal tax and the documentation that must be retained.
