Association for the Blind of WA

Providing a stimulating and accessible online learning experience for students who are blind or vision impaired. This presentation will provide an overview and demonstration of the ‘TruVision’ Series 4 Equity Toolbox, produced by the Association for the Blind of WA in partnership with ElearnWA. The session will demonstrate that online delivery can provide a stimulating learning environment for students from access and equity groups, without sacrificing generic multimedia content or the need to design separate products.

WA Deaf Society Inc.

The WA Deaf Society and its Services

PRESENTER: Josie Hodgetts, Community Liaison Officer, WA Deaf Society. - Josie is responsible for the coordination of the Auslan Language Centre,       which provides information resources and a library pertaining to deafness and deafness issues; assists with the coordination and running of programs and projects organised by Education Services; Deafness Awareness Training and TTY training programs to schools, universities and community groups; editing and production of Deaf Magazine. Josie is a member of WADRA (WA Deaf Recreation Association), WAAD (Western Australian Association of the Deaf) and the WA Deaf Society.

Quantum Technology

The advantages of the Pacmate for the university student: a brief overview of the Pacmate and the advantages of using Windows CE and Jaws as a tool to access information.

Day two provides an opportunity to community members to meet suppliers and try-out products that they are interested in. The day’s focus will predominantly be users, manufacturers, suppliers and businesses from interstate to network with our local community.
