The Equal Opportunity and Social Justice Section of Murdoch University in consultation with the Student Access & Diversity of the University organised the installation of a powerful speech recognition software, 'Dragon NaturallySpeakingR for people with special needs.

On 24 March 2004 Tahlia Jayde, State Manager - WA, Voice Perfect Systems Pty Ltd installed 'Dragon NaturallySpeaking - version 7.3 (Preferred)R on a computer dedicated for students with special needs in the Student Equity room . The software enables one to "launch programs, create documents and reports, and manage desktop -- all by voice."

The software has been donated by Voice Perfect Systems Pty Ltd to Murdoch University in connection with the Assistive Technology Expo organised by the University's Equal Opportunity and Social Justice Section in October 2003.

Murdoch University thanks Voice Perfect for this appropriate donation to the University. This is one more step towards emphasising that people with special needs are capable of attaining their full potential thanks to Assistive Technology.
