ASCILITE-CUTSD Project for Nursing: Pregnancy Simulator Learning Package (PSLP)
A prototype physical-computer combined simulation of a pregnancy
has been developed to prototype stage. The evaluation study is aimed at:
- fine tuning the formative feedback to facilitate learning;
- deciding how to embed the simulation in a coherent learning program of midwifery.
The former focuses on the relationships between learning
outcomes, students' approaches to learning and students' experiences of the package
(including students' interpretations of questions and feedback). This part of
the evaluation explicitly relates to the educational perspective underpinning
the simulation - Diana Laurillard's conversational framework. The latter is summative
evaluation for implementation.
